Our Deepest Fear
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us; it is in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.”
~ Marianne Williamson – from “A Return To Love” ~

I often wonder if our deepest fear is our unawareness. The unawareness that we have a purpose in life. A purpose which is unique to each individual, which brings joy into the world, and which adds to others lives.
Something to consider:

Is it the fear we will become aware….and that we will upon that discovery be forced to own it? Or a deep seated fear that we won’t ever attain that awareness?
Thank you both for visiting. And your thoughtful comment. I appreciate your thoughts on this. *smile*
I’ll be dropping in to visit you soon.
Namaste!

I love this one. It is wonderful!
I think this is my favorite quote of hers. I always come back to it when I feel that people can’t handle who I am or are “scared” of me. I always come back to it for power….
